Our students graduate in just 4 weeks or 16 weekends (Saturday training only) with a starting income potential of up to $42,000 annually. Carolina Trucking Academy Admission Requirements

The requirements for CDL Training admission at Carolina Trucking Academy are as follows:

  • Student must be 18 years of age. A student under the age of 21 cannot drive across state lines.
  • Must be physically qualified and drug free. A student must pass a DOT physical and drug screening upon enrollment.
  • Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
  • Must have a valid Social Security number.

Carolina Trucking Academy in North CarolinaStudents are selected on a first come, first served basis without regard to sex, race, creed, or national origin. We offer flexible class start dates and a low student-to-instructor ratio.

The North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles requires Carolina Trucking Academy to provide the truck driver student a minimum of 160 Hours of instruction before a student can receive a certificate of CDL training completion.

All Carolina Trucking Academy graduates will receive a certificate upon graduation.

Class A

Any combination of vehicles with gross vehicle weight rating, GVWR, of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the GVWR of the vehicle or vehicles being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.

Class B

Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds.

Class C

Any vehicle not described in Class A or Class B above but is:

  • Designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver; or
  • Used in transportation of hazardous materials that require the vehicle to be placarded.
