CDL Class A

The “universal” CDL that opens the door to the most opportunities in the trucking industry.

A Class A commercial driver’s license is required to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs or more, provided the towed vehicle is heavier than 10,000 lbs. A Class A license is considered the “universal” CDL, giving you the flexibility to drive multiple types of commercial trucks and tractor-trailers.

At Carolina Trucking Academy, you’ll train with experienced instructors on late-model equipment and learn the skills you need to enter the industry with confidence. Our team also supports you with job placement assistance so you’re not on your own after you pass your test.
